CT Employers should expect a direct UI billing
In Connecticut, Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefit payments have greatly exceeded UI tax revenues since 2007. To make up for that shortfall, the state is issuing an assessment to all employers as it has for the past several years.
CT employers should expect a direct billing in the mail. While the amount that you will be billed is calculated using taxable payroll totals, this assessment is separate from and in addition to normal contributions through payroll.
Per the special assessment bill, payroll services, including Datapay, do NOT remit this payment – please send the amount due directly into the state.
